CARMEN SUYAPA CRISANTOS

Carmen is passionate about social work, beginning to venture as a volunteer in the patronage pro-improvement of Santo Antonio NY branch, where she was interested in children, adolescence, youth. As well as activities with women to highlight their cultural identity, as well as their rights.

Due to the need to continue working for the development of her Garifuna community, she has joined the board of directors of the organization Honduras Against AIDS/Casa Yurumein. With the objective of providing their knowledge and experience.

Born in Honduras, in the city of La Ceiba, she grew up in the Garifuna community of San Antonio Colon. As a young teenager he moved to New York City, where he attended high school in the South Bronx, as well as Borough of Manhattan Community College and Lehman College. Carmen is a social worker and currently works as a teacher's assistant in District 75.
